Introduction
I had the exciting opportunity to collaborate with a team of talented developers during a hackathon, resulting in the creation of Code Sprint. What initially began as a mystery project evolved into a thrilling platformer distance-running game, much to my delight. The vision for Code Sprint was to develop a game tailored for developers, offering an enjoyable diversion and the opportunity to compete for high scores while waiting for their code to build. The best part? It’s still live and ready for play! So charge your thrusters and dash through this digital landscape to claim the top spot in this electrifying video game race! Designing a Landscape
The most enjoyable aspect of this project for me was the creative process of designing the backgrounds and character sprites, particularly incorporating the parallax effect in the foreground and background. Visualizing and sketching out the vibrant and dynamic elements that would form the layered backdrop of the game was a thrilling endeavor. From conceptualizing the immersive landscapes to crafting the intricate details that would capture the essence of the game, every stroke in Figma felt like adding a mesmerizing depth and excitement to the overall gaming experience.

Sprites (Not the Drink)
Designing the sprites for the character “Rebot” in Code Sprint was a delightful process, blending creativity and functionality to bring the character to life. Experimenting with expressions and animations, I enjoyed infusing charm into Rebot’s persona, contributing to the overall fun and engaging experience of the game.

Conclusion
My week as a game designer was an immersive journey filled with memorable experiences and boundless fun. From the initial excitement of delving into the world of game design to the creative process of crafting characters like Rebot and designing captivating backgrounds, every moment was a celebration of creativity and innovation. The joy derived from witnessing the elements come to life in Code Sprint was unparalleled, reaffirming my passion for artistic expression in the realm of gaming. This experience not only broadened my skill set but also left me with lasting memories of the sheer enjoyment that comes with bringing a virtual world into existence. Did Code Sprint change the world? Did it sell millions of copies? No. But dang was it fun.
